HANYS’ Data Academy℠ Data Fundamentals: Introduction to Medicare will provide hospital staff a clear understanding of the fundamentals of the various Medicare hospital payment systems, including cost-based reimbursement, Prospective Payment Systems (PPSs), and fee schedule payment.
Designed for staff who have limited knowledge of Medicare reimbursement systems, this program explains:
-
reimbursement policies for hospital inpatient and outpatient, rehabilitation,
-
psychiatric, skilled nursing, and home health services;
-
physician, long-term care hospital, and managed care payments;
-
the nuances associated with special rural facility reimbursement for Sole Community, Medicare Dependent, and Critical Access Hospitals; and
-
payment systems for laboratory, end-stage renal disease, hospice, and other services.
The program will also cover the latest legislative and regulatory policies—part of the never-ending changes in reimbursement that affect your facility.
Introduction to Medicare is presented as a two-part Webconference on April 8 and 9. Each 1 ½-hour session can be viewed in the convenience of your own office by multiple staff.
It is not the same program both days—participation in both days is encouraged for maximum value.
