Webconference
This session will review the “connection” between data that are coded in health information management (HIM) departments and used by various audiences to determine quality of care provided by an institution. CMS, the New York State Department of Health, and other audiences are relying on coded data to drive their “report cards” of quality of care provided by an institution. The session will demonstration to HIM and quality professionals how the data that they share with one another is critical to portraying the hospital’s complete quality picture. The session will focus on the importance of pay-for-performance initiatives, which are driven by coded data. Additionally, participants will learn about the significance of hospital-acquired conditions in quality and reimbursement. This session will discuss different data initiatives and the importance of both departments working together to understand the intricacies of the data.
