HANYS’ Data Fundamentals: Introduction to Mapping provides an overview of spatial analysis, which is the process of overlaying data onto maps. Like other techniques, this visualization method can reveal much about what you do, for whom, and where the best opportunities exist. It can clarify complicated issues and reveal unforeseen barriers that require additional consideration.
Faculty will:
- train planning professionals to develop geographic-spatial analyses from standard data reports using mapping software;
- explain basic mapping and information suitable for mapping;
- demonstrate how common health care planning data can be manipulated for mapping purposes;
- illustrate how to create maps for translating data into usable information; and
- provide each participant with a customized service are
At the conclusion of this program, participants will:
- be able to more effectively use mapping software for developing geographic analyses;
- identify what health planning information is appropriate for mapping; and
- demonstrate patterns of care by manipulating large amounts of health care planning data to create maps.
