Introduction to Medicaid will provide a comprehensive overview of Medicaid eligibility, benefits, and hospital payments. It will cover New York Medicaid hospital reimbursement systems, bad debt and charity care distributions, Graduate Medical Education payments, and other payments to hospitals. Participants will gain insight into how the Health Care Reform Act and Medicaid are related, and the political and financial ramifications of Medicaid policy at the local, state, and federal level. This session will also explore how to communicate the importance of Medicaid to the media and the community, and the potential impact of proposed Medicaid reform initiatives.
This Webconference is designed for hospital staff who are not finance professionals or who are new to the topic of reimbursement. Public relations, communications, government relations, and health information management staff will find this program helpful.
