Revenue Cycle Enhancement: Access, Delivery, and Payment for Care
SOS faculty will provide practical strategies and tactics to improve the revenue cycle. To enhance revenue, staff must capture accurate and complete patient information from the point of registration through the delivery of care through billing and collection. Topics to be covered include:
evaluation of patient access processes;
collecting meaningful data;
revenue cycle management strategies;
charge management strategies; and
effective billing and collection follow-up.

FOCUS AREA TWO:
Denial Management and Remediation Strategies
This focus area is designed to provide practical strategies and tactics for claims denial management, communication with payers, and appeals. Using actual denied cases from your facility, participants will write effective appeal letters and learn techniques for presenting cases. This focus area may be expanded to include a session on behavioral health denials. Faculty focus on clinical considerations, providing a practical approach for preventing, managing, and remediating denials. Topics will include:
a review of principles of denial prevention and appealing;
zero-tolerance strategies for improper clinical denials;
how to effectively track denials and appeal workflow; and
successful physician integration strategies.

FOCUS AREA THREE:
Your Facility’s Legal Rights and Contract Strategies
SOS faculty and facility staff will examine key elements of, and provisions in, New York State law that have a direct impact on the revenue cycle. Participants will:
receive practical strategies for analyzing existing contracts before renegotiations using an interdisciplinary approach;
learn how to use existing law to effectively negotiate contracts;
learn how to better track violations, file complaints, and win; and
learn strategies for ensuring compliance.
